Citrus has been a commercially grown crop in Florida since the mid 1800s. There are about 569,000 acres of citrus across the state of Florida. Florida's orange season runs from October through June. One of my favorite places to pick oranges each season is Hilltop FGroves, a U-Pick farm off Highway 42 in Weirsdale, Florida.
